In December 2023, I was detained while awaiting trial. Prior to that, I maintained active accounts across multiple social media platforms.

Through Facebook alone, I was connected to more than 5,000 individuals—friends, journalists, advocates, and professional contacts. That network functioned as a communication lifeline.

After my release, I discovered that my primary account had been disabled.

Social Media Account Loss and Platform Restrictions

I attempted to regain access through official appeal channels. The appeals were denied.

I created a new account, which was subsequently restricted. No detailed explanation was provided beyond standard policy language.

Whether the result of automated moderation systems, prior reporting activity, or internal enforcement protocols, the outcome was the same: access to years of contacts, communications, and archived material was lost.

Additional digital disruptions occurred during this period, including security alerts involving email access and home monitoring systems.

Those incidents remain under review through available account logs and security records.

The Broader Impact of Social Media Account Loss

This experience raises a broader issue: the fragility of digital identity.

Social media platforms are no longer casual tools. They function as infrastructure.

When access is revoked—whether correctly or incorrectly—individuals may lose business relationships, media reach, legal support networks, and community ties instantly.

Content moderation systems are complex, and platforms retain legal authority to enforce their policies. However, transparency in enforcement decisions remains a legitimate public concern.

When digital systems control visibility, reputation, and communication, procedural opacity becomes consequential.

Rebuilding After Social Media Account Loss

This blog now functions as an independent archive and communication channel.

Unlike platform-based systems, it is not subject to algorithmic suppression, automated account flags, or third-party moderation policies.

If you have experienced sudden account loss, unexplained moderation actions, or digital access instability, your experience is not isolated.

The digital infrastructure we rely on deserves scrutiny, transparency, and due process.

Next Steps After Account Loss

  • Preserve and export digital data regularly
  • Enable two-factor authentication across platforms
  • Maintain independent communication channels
  • Use personal domains and backups for critical content
  • Engage with digital rights organizations
