Google Docs is Down

Here’s a quick breakdown:

• Google’s official Workspace Status Dashboard shows an ongoing investigation into access problems for Drive, Sheets and Docs — starting around Nov 12, 2025, 09:00 PST. StatusGator+1
• Tracking sites (StatusGator) also note a “Warning” status: error codes like ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR and some users unable to open files offline. StatusGator

My take:
It’s not a complete outage globally (yet), but enough users in some regions are affected that you can’t safely assume full availability. If you depend on access right now, you should have a backup plan.

What you should do:

• Try logging in via a different browser or device (just in case it’s your local client problem).
• Clear your browser cache and cookies, and ensure your browser is updated.
• If you’re working offline, see if you can switch to offline mode or export your document to avoid losing access.
• Monitor the Workspace Status dashboard yourself. google.com
• If this is urgent work (like your audiobook GUI scripts or project writing), use an alternative tool temporarily (e.g., Microsoft Word Online or Zoho Writer) until you’re sure Docs is stable.
